MILA Introducers for MILA U-Light™ – Small, Medium, Large

The MILA U-Light™ Urinary Access System is a reusable light-guided device designed to simplify urinary catheter placement in female dogs. By illuminating the urethral papilla, the U-Light™ helps clinicians quickly identify the urethral opening and place Foley catheters with greater confidence and efficiency. The system includes three interchangeable introducers sized for small, medium, and large patients, allowing placement of catheters ranging from 4Fr to 12Fr. The introducer design facilitates vaginal diversion and exposure of the urethral papilla, while the illuminated tip provides direct visualization of the target anatomy. Ready to use right out of the case, the U-Light™ requires no charging or additional equipment and provides more than 36 hours of continuous battery life. The introducers may be sterilized using Ethylene Oxide (EO) gas, while the reusable light guide can be disinfected between procedures using antiseptic wipes or other approved cold disinfection methods.

Care & Maintenance

• The U-Light™ system consists of a reusable light guide and removable introducers, each with different reprocessing requirements.
• The reusable light guide is an electronic component and should be disinfected between procedures using antiseptic wipes or other approved cold disinfection methods.
• Do not expose the light guide to Ethylene Oxide (EO) gas sterilization.
• Do not autoclave the light guide.
• The removable introducers may be sterilized using Ethylene Oxide (EO) gas.
• Do not autoclave the introducers.
• Additional sterile introducer sets are available separately for clinics that wish to maintain extra sterile components for future procedures.
• Always follow facility protocols and manufacturer instructions when cleaning, disinfecting, or sterilizing system components.
